To further continue on the trajectory of woman upliftment in his constituency, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya initiated a second padyatra for ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Vyasan Hatao’. The padyatra started from Mota Charodia village of Gariadhar taluka in Gujarat on December 21, 2006 and covered a distance of 127 km, encompassing 52 villages. The walk ended on December 28, 2006 at Palitana.

Promoting the cause of girl child education has been the cornerstone of Mr Mandaviya’s governance model. The padyatra was to spread awareness amongst people to promote literacy in girls.

In addition to that, the padyatra also persuaded citizens to pledge against substance abuse and give up addictions including alcohol, gambling and tobacco, amongst others. The padyatra was a success, and as a result, more than 1,650 people in the constituency quit addiction.
